Terms of use

Last updated: 12 October 2026

These terms apply to everyone using usefitmybike.com (“FitMyBike”), published by [PUBLISHER NAME]. By using the site you accept them.

1. What FitMyBike does

FitMyBike is a free information service. You choose a bicycle; we show parts whose mechanical standards (bottom bracket, freehub, axles, mounts, etc.) match the standards recorded for that bicycle, with links to shops that sell them. We don’t sell anything ourselves: any purchase is a contract between you and the shop.

2. Compatibility information — please read

We build our data from manufacturers’ specifications and other published sources and check it carefully. Even so:

  • Manufacturers change components between production batches, sizes and markets, and a previous owner may have changed parts on your bike.
  • Some compatibility depends on things we can’t see: wear, tyre clearance, frame size, aftermarket wheels.
  • Sources occasionally contain errors.

Before buying or fitting a part, check it against your own bike and the manufacturer’s documentation, and have safety-critical parts (brakes, headset, axles, bottom bracket) fitted by someone competent. If you spot an error, tell us at contact@usefitmybike.com — we fix reports quickly.

3. Prices and shops

Prices shown are indicative and may be out of date; the price on the shop’s website at the time you order is the one that applies. Availability, delivery, returns and warranty are handled by the shop under its own terms.

4. Affiliate disclosure

Many shop links are affiliate links. If you buy after clicking one, FitMyBike may receive a commission from the shop. This never changes the price you pay and doesn’t decide which parts are shown: parts are listed because they fit. As an Amazon Associate, FitMyBike earns from qualifying purchases.

5. Acceptable use

You may use FitMyBike for your personal, non-commercial needs. You may not copy or extract substantial parts of the database, scrape the site or its database with automated tools, overload the service, or try to get around its security. The database is protected by the database producer’s right (Articles L.341-1 et seq. of the French Intellectual Property Code).

6. Availability

We try to keep the site online but may interrupt it for maintenance, or change or discontinue features, without notice.

7. Liability

FitMyBike is provided free of charge and on an “as is” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, for a part that doesn’t fit your particular bike, or for losses arising from the shops’ products or services. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, in particular for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury, nor your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Links to other websites

We aren’t responsible for the content or practices of the websites we link to.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version. Using the site after a change means you accept the new version.

10. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. Please contact us first at contact@usefitmybike.com so we can try to solve any problem amicably; otherwise the competent French courts have jurisdiction, subject to the consumer’s right to bring proceedings in their own courts.
