Cookie policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. FitMyBike uses as few as possible, and nothing beyond what’s strictly necessary runs until you agree.
1. Strictly necessary — always on
These don’t need consent because the site can’t work properly without them (Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act).
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |

FitMyBike | Remembers the shop country you picked | Until you clear your browser data |

2. Audience measurement — only with your consent
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors to count audience | 13 months |
_ga_* |
Google Analytics | Keeps session state | 13 months |
If you refuse, Google’s script isn’t loaded at all. If you later withdraw consent, these cookies are deleted.
3. Shop and affiliate cookies
FitMyBike doesn’t place advertising cookies. When you click a shop link (Amazon, Alltricks, Decathlon, Bike24…), you go to that shop’s website, which may set its own cookies — including one that records you came from FitMyBike so we can earn a commission. Those cookies are governed by the shop’s cookie policy and choices you make on its site.
4. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking fmb_consent means the banner will appear on each visit.
